Tsubame-dake

A famous mountain that is part of the Jonen range, it sits atop the ridge line that you reach on the Gassen-one trail, which is one of the three steepest climbing routes in the Northern Japanese Alps that is accessible from the Nakabusa onsen area. It is situated along the Omote-ginza trail between Otensho-dake peak and Yariga-take peak. Although it is a steep climb, it is well maintained because many hikers use the Omote-ginza trail. It is famous for the unique shape of the mountain which is formed by granite and the dicentra flowers that inhabit the area.

Jonen-dake peak

This peak of the Jonen range is located to the west of Azumino which sits on the southern part of the Northern Japanese Alps.
There is fantastic view from the peak, especially towards the Kamikochi highlands over the mountain and towards Yarigatake peak and Hotaka-renpo peak across the Azusa-gawa river.
